We understand their unique requirements at this important stage.
At Sovereign Star, you’ll find that we provide:
Unique learning and caring environment tailored to your children
-
- Continuously working closely with parents and whanau and build up an environment of mutual and genuine respect, trust and collaborate partnerships with parents/whanau.
Our childcare routines are similar to their home based setting and we strive to achieve a respectful and happy spiritual learning and care environment where children and their families/whanau are valued in order for children to develop their full potential.
- Continuously working closely with parents and whanau and build up an environment of mutual and genuine respect, trust and collaborate partnerships with parents/whanau.
-
- Provide flexible, varied and fun environments that provide your toddler with an array of experiences to challenge their physical energy – for example, incorporating activities that encourage climbing and jumping, because, as parents and teachers, we know that toddlers are at an age where they exhibit high energy levels.
- Because toddlers spend a large portion of their day in routines such as saying hello or good-bye, getting dressed, diapering, toileting and mealtime, our child-care environment reflects these important shared learning times.
Toddlers also have hugs and cuddles as a big part of their day. The environment provided for our toddlers is welcoming and responsive to both children and their families.
This promotes a sense of security for the toddler, which in turn, fosters trust among caregivers, children and families.
Unique discovering, learning and fun journey for toddlers!
As your baby grows into a toddler you will notice that he is a bundle of excitement, activity, and curiosity. His play becomes more complex and imaginative as he begins to form skills and learns independence, creativity, and problem-solving.
Toddlerhood is also a time for emerging social skills, he learns how to play with other children and share toys with them.
Playing pretend is one of a toddler’s favourite activities. Our fun learning programme and planning, both as a group and one on one interaction, are provided with a balance of physical activities, rest, and reflection, aiming at encouraging and supporting your child’s imagination, curiosity, and creativity.
At Sovereign Star Preschool we
-
- Encourage toddlers to explore and challenge their physical abilities to gain confidence in and control of their bodies and to learn strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning and develop working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical and spiritual world.
-
- Provide child interest-based daily plans and an early education programme that incorporates a balance of group time, individual time, mat time, free time, opportunities to share stories as a group and one-to-one experiences, conversations for language development etc.
-
- Provide opportunities for your toddler to express him/herself in a play orientated environment through imaginative and creative play, storytelling, movement and role play.
-
- Provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences for your toddler to repeat and practice emerging skills and concepts to develop their learning dispositions, languages, music and lifelong learning skills.
-
- Provide opportunities to be independent and confident about themselves – for instance encouraging toddlers to dress themselves, feed themselves, and care for their belongings. During playtime your child can utter his first “thank you” or “please”. These social graces and manners are encouraged and reinforced during your child’s stay at the centre.
