We listen to your child’s cues and work with the best of interests of your child.
We provide a calm and quiet place for your child to sleep or rest while engaging children who are not asleep in play.
After playing and discovering, some children may need to sleep or rest.
Please discuss your individual requirements with our nursery teachers.
Each day, our cooks prepare a nutritious lunch as well as serving varied morning and afternoon snacks, including fresh fruit and vegetables. We say thanks, in the form of grace, before meals.
We celebrated each child’s birthday at the centre. We are happy for families to bring in a cake for their special day. Please see our birthday policy.
Field Trips are part of our exciting moments, which provides opportunities to connect with the wider world and extending the current learning focus. A field Trip will be organised during the learning year and a cost may incur. Parents will be given a notice in advance and we welcome parents’ involvement.
Our purposely designed and built outdoor playground encourages play, challenges your child’s mind and ability and stimulates learning.
In summer, we have a “No hat, No Play” policy to ensure that children are protected from the sun, while in winter we specify warm clothing to keep them warm.
We work with parents to ensure that toilet training is smooth and appropriate for each individual child. As children are ready for toilet training at different ages, it is important to enable them to develop their skills at their own pace.
Personal Toys and Belongings
We encourage that children arrive in clean and babies have a fresh change prior to arrival. Please ensure comfortable clothing for your children to play and enjoy messy play at the centre.
Please name all of your child’s clothing and have a set of spare clothing to change.
In summer time, children are required to wear hats outdoors and used sunblock.
In winter time, children are encouraged to bring gumboots to school.
Socialising with other children is a big thing at our centre. Through socialising, children learn useful strategies about self-control and how to deal with conflict. We focus on good behaviour and positive interactions to achieve successful socialising.
Some children need to learn that some behaviours aren’t not acceptable. In this case, harsh or threatening methods of discipline are not permitted at our centre. Our staff are trained to deal with problems in a positive but firm manner.
We endeavour to use different strategies to relate to the children. Our teachers regularly receive professional development in how to guide and support children to ensure they understand while their behaviour is being corrected, they are always loved.
